Day 1 Sunday 28 February 2021                                                                      A/tea, Dinner

We pick you up from home this morning and make our way south along the M5 motorway towards Tumut and the Snowy Mountains with a stop to purchase our own lunch. After lunch we continue our journey to arrive at the picturesque Village of Jugiong. Here we meet our Local Guide who will show us and dazzle us with information on Jugiong and all it has to offer. Hear stories about the past bushrangers, the Murrumbidgee River and see spectacular scenery, historic buildings, including the bush school that Richie Benaud attended. Our tour in Jugiong also includes afternoon tea. Then we continue our drive southward to arrive in Tumut and check into our accommodation for the next four nights and freshen up before dinner in the restaurant.

Day 2 Monday 1 March 2021                                                                    Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Following breakfast, we begin our sightseeing of Tumut. Tumut is the most northern town in the Snowy Scheme. Poplars, elms, oaks and maples line the streets of this attractive town. We begin our morning with a driving guided tour of Tumut and a visit to the Tumut Broom Factory. Following our tour, we drive to Tumut Valley Violets for lunch and a tour. With over 950 named varieties it is reputedly the largest African violet farm in Australia and is located in the grounds of the 120-year-old  Tumut Plains School House. This afternoon we head to the Montreal Theatre which is hosting a “Nostalgia Afternoon”. Our time here will include film clips from classic musical movies of the 1940’s and 1950’s, as well as a tour, talk and afternoon tea. Then we return to our Motel before enjoying dinner.

Day 3 Tuesday 2 March 2021                                                                    Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

This morning after breakfast we have a short drive to the little village of Adelong. Here we visit the Adelong Alive Museum and also see the Adelong Falls and Gold Mill Reserve for a fascinating look at some of the ruins from an early gold rush. Our next stop is at the colonial mansion, “Monte Cristo” Homestead for lunch and a guided tour. We’ll experience life from a bygone era and view the magnificent collection of fine antiques and renowned carriage collection. This remarkable homestead was built in 1884 and is recognized as the most haunted house in Australia! After our visit we return back to our Motel for a rest before dinner.
